So far I have been blown away with logitech hardware, they seriously are awesome… The only thing I think needs a little bit of work on is the software that comes with your product, they need a clearer GUI and something that loads fast and is flexible with options, don’t get me wrong, there are a lot of things you can do with Logitech’s hardware but I have found that if you have one setting turned on, you lack another… For example, when I turn RightLight on, it might sacrifice some frame rate, though it’s funny because sometimes it gains in frame rate… Weird for basic users to understand. I like the idea of the stand, if only it were adjustable. I guess for calling somebody on skype it would be reasonable though. The only thing I am worried about is the audio quality on the mic in the camera (at least, I think I could see one) the current one I have I believe is about 22Khz, possibly less, not quite sure but it isn’t the best. I actually have the desktop version, of the quick cam pro 9000, it is the BEST webcam I have EVER seen, I wouldn’t have a doubt in my mind that this wouldn’t be worth $99. The QuickCam Pro for Notebooks will retail for $99 at most major electronics retailers. With the ability to take pictures up to eight megapixels and the ability to capture video at thirty frames per second, the QuickCam definitely gives its self some high expectations. The Logitech QuickCam Pro for Notebooks is no such exception. Logitech packs a lot of features, accessories and quality into this package. Webcams arent anything new, but they are beginning to get a lot better. This is something that built-in webcams don’t have and one reason to take a look at this camera even if you already have a buil-in webcam on your notebook. Logitech’s RightLight technology improves image quality in low-light environments or when there’s strong backlighting. There are lots of fun things you can do with Fun Filters and Avatars (see video above), but one of the best features is RightLight. There’s also a stand to elevate the camera to face level and so users have more flexibility in where they position the camera. The Logitech QuickCam Pro for Notebooks sits 61mm tall by 30.5mm wide. The Logitech QuickCam Pro for Notebooks comes with a carrying case and headset so you can keep your video chats private when you’re out and about. The Webcams auto-focus feature does an admirable job of keeping you focused. The photo of the crayons below is an example of the potential of this camera. Users can record high-def video for computer playback or capture 8MP (interpolated) still images. Logitech’s teamed up with Carl Zeiss to deliver a glass lens, capable of delivering 2MP images and 1.3 megapixel video. The most important part of any camera is the lens and webcams are no exception. I sat down with Stan Kwong of Logitech for a demo and was very impressed with what he showed me. Images are very sharp and clear, and Logitech’s software is fun and easy to use. The new QuickCam is capable of recording high-def (720P) video and has several premium features, that make it an excellent deal at $99.
